The bristles last from a few days to a couple of weeks but some people get longer out of them, mine is onto week four and starting to get quite frayed, but still feeling squeaky clean. My willing tester got two to three weeks. Definitely requires a gentle touch, but then so do our teeth.
I just want to state clearly that longevity is not nearly as long as nylon.
